Vibratory Conveyors
General Kinematics continues to perfect vibratory conveyor technology, and expand its use in thousands of bulk handling and processing applications. Today we’re efficiently moving and processing a wide range of materials – from heavy castings to paper scrap. This includes molds, castings, sand, foods, pharmaceuticals, scrap metals, mining ores, minerals, coal, ash, trash, forest products, and more, all with versatile vibrating conveyors that move materials at the volume and speed you need. Plus, our natural frequency designs are renowned for rugged construction and dependability in all applications.
- Light and heavy-duty construction for all industries.
- Exclusive drives for extra long or heavy units with a single drive.
- Synchronized frequency spring designs.
- GK engineered stabilizer arms for light or heavy loads.
- Infinite variety of custom designs for specific applications.
MORE THAN JUST CONVEYING
Versatile vibratory conveyors from General Kinematics do more than just move materials. The inherent motion of continuously tossing and throwing material forward creates the opportunity to perform one or more processes along the way.
Custom Engineered for your Application.
Our highly qualified staff of application engineers and equipment design specialists are available to help you with value-added custom equipment design services. We focus on custom- engineered solutions, working closely with customers to assure that conveyors and other ancillary equipment are precisely tailored to fit the most exacting process requirements.
Depending upon your application, conveyors can be engineered and constructed with custom trough designs to handle hot, heavy, and/or abrasive materials in the foundry, steel, cement, recycling, and other industries. Optional materials may include mild or abrasion resistant steel, stainless steel, or special alloys. Special patterns, perforations, and trough thickness can also be specified to meet your application needs.
The Principle of Natural Frequency
Natural frequency conveying moves materials smoothly and efficiently in a gentle series of “throws and catches”. Spring systems are custom engineered and tuned to the weight of the conveying trough and material. This produces a system that resonates at the desired natural frequency. Most important, when the conveyor operates near its natural frequency, more than ninety percent of the driving force is provided by the spring system. The eccentric drive provides only the additional energy lost due to friction, reducing electrical requirements over other vibratory designs.
Trough Design
Choosing the correct trough design is one of the most important factors in meeting your needs for vibratory conveyors. It’s not just fit and finish; our experienced design staff gives careful considerations to product factors such as bulk density, angle of repose, and particle size. Further, we offer trough designs with sub-assemblies that speed up trough replacement for high wear applications. Economical non-replaceable trough designs are also available.
Syncro-Coil® Conveyors are designed for heavy or medium-duty material load applications. They feature rugged, long life alloy coil springs and are ideal for applications with heavy-duty trough construction, large material loads, or operation in dusty or “difficult” atmospheres. Here’s what makes them run and run with less maintenance.
- Long life steel alloy coil springs.
-
- Springs paired with rugged stabilizer legs to control linear motion.
- Stabilizer ends include steel encased rubber bushings for non-lubricated, trouble-free operation.
Syncro-Coil II® Conveyors are specially designed for low headroom applications where elevation is at a premium. Compact for their capabilities, they are equal in strength and stamina to our rugged Syncro-Coil conveyors, thanks to many quality construction features.
Syncro-Flex™ Conveyors use rubber shear mounts to support and control dimensional motion, plus function as reactor springs to efficiently store and release energy. Their highly efficient design makes them ideal for low headroom applications such as foods. Simple, uncluttered construction provides maximum cleanliness in chemical and food processing applications, less maintenance, wear in dusty atmospheres.
- Corrosion-free characteristics allow for fast, easy “wash down”.
- Rubber shear mounts have been specially designed to provide low stress, trouble-free operation.
Syncro-Flex™ “S” Conveyors with “S” or slat spring assemblies offer exceptional performance and value. They are specifically designed for light material loads with long, dependable operating life.
- Low stress reinforced glass fiber slat springs.
- Long stroke, low speed operations for reduced conveyor wear.
Syncro-Shear® Conveyors are renowned for rugged reliability, and are specially designed for severe-duty applications under extreme loads and high impact force. This includes shredder discharge conveying where equipment must withstand occasional explosions.
- Simple, corrosion-free design is ideal for wet, dusty, or hostle environments.
- Specially constructed reactor spring assemblies with molded circular rubber assure uniform stress distribution and long service life.
- Accessible mounting on the outer edge of the conveying unit assures ease of maintenance and uniform distribution of dynamic forces.
Features:
SYNCRO-CUSHION™ Coil Spring Drive - coil spring connection to trough offers protection to drive components should an overload occur.
Aluminum Rocker Legs - aluminim legs offer the strength of steel while significantly reducing vibrating weight of machine. Aluminum also quickly conducts heat away from the bushings. Less weight and less heat mean less wear on components and more uptime for your equipment.
Balanced and Isolated designs - In many installations, transmission of forces to the surrounding supports or building steel is unacceptable. GK offers many different types of counterpoised designs to absorb or isolate reaction forces. These include duplicate trough reactor assemblies, sub-base to earth spring systems, and positively driven balancer mass that moves 180 degrees out-of phase - to name just a few. GK will work with you to determine which design will work best with your process application.
